Montserrat, a rock massif not far from Barcelona, is as small as it is photogenic. The massif has 107 pinnacles which form a fanciful, if not somewhat alien spectacle. Several peaks are challenging pinnacles that can only be reached by means of a perilous route, others are blunted stumps that can be reached on foot with your hands in your pockets. Sometimes, gravity is the biggest enemy, at other times the bushes and trees get in the way.
Two local lads plan to scale the 107 crags in seven days and do so with an infectious enthusiasm, but not without meticulous preparation.
From their village down below, they study the horizon keenly, seeking out their route beforehand in minute detail. But the climbers, together with director Biel Macía, have got their technical preparation, climbing technique and visual storytelling right too. Montserrat, integral 107 will appeal to a wide audience, from avid climbers to film buffs, outdoor enthusiasts and geologists alike.
