La Paralpine
Hike & Fly. The Alpine Traverse, from Triglav to Nice, by paraglider and on foot, taking in the odd adventurous summit or two, is an ambitious project devised by a young Belgian called Guillaume.
At various points along the way, including ascents of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the Matterhorn and the the Grand Capuchin, Guillaume is accompanied by a number of his friends. Where possible a descent follows by paraglider (much faster than on foot!)
The charm of this film lies in the cheerful, yet sometimes reckless enthusiasm of Guillaume and his climbing friends. Make no mistake, Guillaume is tough, but considers himself a lesser mortal than his (more) athletic friends. In particular, it is his girlfriend Lolotte who sparkles when she takes the lead during a terrifying rock climb where her absolute pleasure comes shining through.
Exchange with Free Flight festival ‘Coupe Icare’
This film is being screened as part of an exchange between the DMFF and the French festival, Coupe Icare. Before the film, Stéphanie, a team member of this festival, will give a short presentation about this largest international festival for Free Flight (read: paragliding, hang gliding, wingsuit base jumping, etc.).

The presentation and the screening are in the New Regional Bauhaus (located at the Promenade in Heerlen) and is free-of-charge to all those who wish to attend.
