Heidi
Heidi is an eight-year-old orphan girl who has been entrusted by her aunt to live with her grandfather in the mountains. He is a cantankerous old man, but with Heidi he begins to show a kinder side. Heidi also makes friends with Peter, a goatherd, who is a bit older than Heidi herself. Heidi leads a happy-go-lucky existence in the mountains, although she is sometimes sad that she can’t go to the school in the village.
One day however, there comes an end to her carefree life in the Alps when Heidi is taken back to the big city (Frankfurt) by her aunt where she moves in with family of the wealthy Herr Sesemann. Heidi is set to become the new playmate for their disabled daughter Klara. Heidi is unhappy but makes the most of the situation, whilst constantly yearning for her grandfather.
