‘It doesn’t matter who you are or where you live, the force of gravity remains the same,’ Nasim Eshqi explains. Sport saved her life. When at the age of 23 she stumbled upon climbing, it reawakened her desire to live. Nasim is now the only woman in Iran who is opening up new climbing routes.

To fulfil her passion, Nasim must push her physical, mental and cultural boundaries to the limit, given the strict rules in place for women. She climbs in India, Turkey and Armenia and when she’s back home teaches other women to climb. She dreams of one day opening up a route in the Alps. The Italian filmmaker Francesca Borghetti has therefore started a crowdfunding campaign. Because of sanctions however, the account has been frozen.

The film presents a portrait of an exceptional climber and, at the same time, of the filmmaker too. They both create new things, which in turn help others. They want to reach out, across borders, and send a message.

This film will be screened in one block together with My Phantom, Between Walls, and A White Dream.
