Emptiness – silence – endless expanses – unattainable horizons

The Dutch Mountain Film Festival, in collaboration with Schunck, is hosting an exhibition by artist Roelant Meijer. The exhibition tells two visual accounts of expeditions on foot: one through the deserts of Libya and the sand dunes of Murzuk, which can reach heights of 300 metres; and the other through the Ódádahraun lava wilderness in Iceland. Both journeys pass through an unforgiving wasteland. To survive, large reserves of water are required, making a hike into an expedition.
