Presentation: Onbegrensd Avontuur op de Seven Summits

By: DMFF with Stichting Onbegrensd Avontuur

When: Monday 4 November 6 pm

Location: Adelante, Hoensbroek

Adelante, the rehabilitation centre in nearby Hoensbroek, will be the venue for the film screening of the ascents of the Seven Summits in Zuid-Limburg made this summer by DMFF and Onbegrensd Avontuur. You can watch the film here below.
Also being screened is the film Climbing for Gold, about Belgian climber Fré Leys who prepares himself for the world paraclimbing championships.

Onbegrensd Avontuur – which translates roughly as ‘boundless adventure’ – is a charitable organisation that promotes adventure for all, regardless of one’s mobility issues. Its aim is to bring people of all abilities together in the outdoors. For example, enjoying the campfire, exploring the countryside, sleeping in mountain huts and gazing at the starry skies. Thanks to the Joëlette (an adapted wheelchair for off-road use), even the most difficult of trails can now be tackled. This means that physically disabled persons can now experience adventure in the outdoors at first-hand.

Ove the last few months, the Dutch Mountain Film Festival and Onbegrensd Avontuur, in mixed groups of disabled and non-disabled hikers, have been climbing the Seven Summits of Zuid-Limburg. These groups have been accompanied by members of the DMFF, since the latter know the summits like the back of their hand and sometimes use their muscle-toned physique to help haul the Joëlette up the steepest of tracks. A DMFF film crew was on hand to record these escapades.

This Saturday afternoon, 9 November, we will be climbing the last of the Seven Summits together with Onbegrensd Avontuur: the Vaalserberg! Do you want to join us?
