Is this clinic (level 3) suitable for you?
You will already have a considerable amount of MTB experience and regularly cycle on trails in Zuid-Limburg or in the Eifel / Ardennes. We will introduce you to new settings to help develop your skills and push your limits. We will discuss your progress by way of photo & video analysis.
Anyone can participate in the training at their own level and pace. Your technique is more important than the kilometres you cover. The challenge is all in the drills!
Content
- Bike set-up/tuning suspension and safety check
- Analysis of trail and line
- Negotiating obstacles
- Steep ascents and descents
- Negotiating tight corners on steeper terrain
- Drop techniques
Hiking your bike
- Full suspension MTB (hardtail also) technical condition
- Preferably flat pedals
- If you have a dropper post, that’s great, otherwise lower your seat post (keep an Allen key handy)
- Bike helmet and goggles
- Bike gloves with long fingers
- Leg and arm protectors recommended
- Repair set: at least one spare tyre, pump, repair set
- For cold weather: warm clothing, wind and rainwear. Wear warmer clothing than usual as we will take regular stops
- Drink (water bottle or camel bag) and something to eat
- Put everything in a rucksack

Start: municipal car park, Cauberg.
Number of participants: max. 4 persons (2x 2)
Required fitness level: good basic condition
Costs €65 p.p.
We will assemble at the car park on Cauberg. Follow the entrance to Holland Casino. It is the first barrier. (€1.90 per hour)
(If you decide to park elsewhere, we will still be meeting at this car park)
Is this clinic (level 2) suitable for you?
You are a regular mountain-biker, but have a limited amount of experience. We will develop your basic skills. You will learn to optimise your skills on more challenging terrain. A good basic condition is required. Anyone can participate in the training at their own level and pace. We will only cover a few kilometres as we will be focusing on your technique.
Content of the clinic
- bike-check and safety
- bike adjustments: tyre pressure, saddle height, handlebars, suspension, posture and balance
- braking: controlled braking and emergency stops
- ascending and descending of steep and windy trails
- anticipating bends and riding line
- negotiating obstacles (roots, etc)
