Mountain Literature
The DMFF literary programme
When: 8 November - 8 December 2024
Price: Admission: Free
Anett Frontzek (1965) explores urban, architectural, geological and sociological structures through the medium of drawings, paper cuttings and installations.
Often, she uses cartographic material as a source for her work: the starting point for her thematic studies is often scientific or statistical data. Frontzek does not invent anything; she starts by making a systematic investigation of the local situation, but individualises and expands on this by way of a personal exploration of objects, photographs and conversations found on location.
The exhibition displays work from the Faked mountains series (collages with pencil drawing) and Ein immaterieller Vorschlag auf Weiß zu wandeln (cuttings taken from original Swiss tour-skiing maps).
Since 1993, Anett Frontzek has received numerous awards and grants for her work.
