2024 Film Jury

On 28 and 29 September 2024, this year’s film jury – comprising Lea Vučko, Max Koninkx en Court Haegens – gathered to select the Award-winning films for the 14th Dutch Mountain film.

The winners will be announced at the Awards Show on 10 November 2024. Make sure to be there!

Lea Vučko

Lea Vučko (1991) is a Slovenian film director, animator and illustrator. Together with her partner Damir Grbanović, she is co-founder of Octopics studio, with whom she made her directing debut, the short animation film The Legend of Goldhorn (2022). The film has been screened at more than 80 film festivals and has been included in the the award selections for various mountain film festivals, including Trento, Banff, Kendal and the DMFF, where the film formed part of the selection last year. During last year’s festival, we also put on an exhibition of Lea’s amazing drawings from which the film is made.

Court Haegens

Court is an instructor and mountaineer is the widest sense of the word. As well as having made some difficult Alpine ascents, he is also active in tour-skiing, waterfall climbing and expedition climbing. As an expedition climber, Court’s successes include the ascent of the 6,412-metre Kangmi Kangri in Tibet, the complete traverse of the northern Patagonian ice cap and the ascent of the 8,035-metre Gasherbrum II in the Karakoram. With teams from the NKBV Expedition Academy, he has also climbed several peaks in Himachal Pradesh and Kyrgyzstan. In Kyrgyzstan, he ascended four hitherto unclimbed peaks, including the 5,014-metre Pic Ronald Naar. (Photo: Anniek Verschuur)

Max Koninkx

Max Koninkx is a communications consultant, outdoor enthusiast and keen amateur photographer. He is one of the most loyal visitors to the Dutch Mountain Film Festival, so has watched many hours of mountain film. During his photographic studies, his work was assessed by fellow course participants. He has been going to the mountains since his childhood. Initially as a walker, but followed by courses with the Dutch and German Alpine Clubs. This was followed up by Haute Route trail from Chamonix to Zermatt and other long-distance paths. It is against this backdrop that many stories have been set and created which are entertaining, inspiring and surprising. Max will be coming back for more inspiration at the DMFF.
